McCarthy's was the mover for my Dad going from his home to assisted living housing. From my first phone call with Rob to the 2 men who came to the house, Bryce and Jeff (AKA "Frank"), everything was awesome. Bryce and Jeff were fast, efficient, personable, careful, and funny - not necessarily in that order. They were on time, listened to our requests, were careful with my Dad's stuff and, overall, those two guys made this a really great experience.

I used McCarthy’s back in 2019 to have them move a bedroom set that my wife purchased over in Hudson to bring back to Weymouth to have them set it up in our first floor bedroom. Four years later one of my daughters moved out so me and my wife decided it was time to reclaim our master bedroom upstairs. The first thing that popped into my mind was I have to call McCarthys. I made the call on a Monday and received a call back on Wednesday to setup an appointment for that Friday. Again the two man crew from McCarthys did not disappoint. The movers were courteous and meticulous on making sure they didn’t scape or scratch the furniture or walls. At one point I thought they were not going to be able to get a piece up the stairs because of the size until one of the guys suggested flipping the piece upside down in and awkward position to be able to clear the ceiling. After that we were back in business. In the end it was another outstanding job well done by McCarthys. I can’t say enough about McCarthys Moving & Storage. I would highly recommend McCarthys as your moving company. BTW I’m NOT baked and this is not a fake review.

I cannot express how happy I am that I used McCarthy's for our move. First of all, their price was BY FAR the best out of the 3 estimates I received. You would think their service would be second tier - but NO - they sent a team of 5 guys to move us - w 2 trucks. What another guy said would be a 3 day move - was DONE in one day with these guys. Rob the owner took so much care with our job, and when multiple complications came up with our closing, he worked with us to push our move and was kind, professional, and responsive in the process. I moved recently and hired McCarthy's Moving at the suggestion of a friend who had used their services last fall. The entire process was excellent and stress free. Bryce, Thomas and Jeff moved me and did a truly phenomenal job. Their attention to detail was paramount, and they went above and beyond my expectations. We used McCarthys after researching many movers on the south shore. Like others, we were impressed by the 5 star reviews and their pricing was very reasonable. It was a no brainer to go with them.

The movers arrived right on time and were incredibly efficient from the moment they started. They were extremely professional and easy to work with. They offered to move anything and everything they could, even the stuff I had planned on moving myself.

Moving everything into the house took no time at all for them. They assembled everything easily and were kind enough to ask where we wanted lamps, bins, boxes, clothes, etc.

They truly went above and beyond for me when my daughters nursery lamp shade had some wiring snap during the move. It wasn’t an expensive lamp by any means, but not sold anymore at target so I was a little bummed about it. They took the lamp shade back to their shop, welded it back together for me, AND dropped it back off at our home. Don’t look elsewhere, they are amazing and I highly recommend them!!

I have never hired a mover before. The last time I moved was in 1999.
I dreaded the thought of trying to move everything from a house I had been in for 23 years.
A good friend recommended Mc Carthy’s.
I called and received a call back the same day to schedule the move.
Rob (owner at McCarthy’s) was great. Told me not to move anything as that’s what his guys do.
His team of three showed up exactly on time the day of the move. They were amazing and did a fantastic job! They even moved all the closed from the closets!
Can’t say enough about those guys. They made a hugely stressful day so much easier.
I highly recommend McCarthy’s.

Great from start to finish. Rob was great with the estimate beforehand and gave tremendous ideas of what to prepare for. Bryce, Thomas, Clayton, Sheron and Vance did a fantastic job on the actual move. Worked hard, very professional, took care of every item, had ideas for where to put items and great people. Couldn't give a more glowing recommendation to all of these men. With all that said, the price was extremely fair and reasonable compared to others.

This moving company is hands down the best!! From Rob’s estimate to the 3 greatest guys,Bryce, Clayton and Enkid, who did my move. They were on time, fast but very careful, funny, and worked so well together as a team. I don’t ever recall having better service than these three guys. Their positivity was refreshing and instantly put me at ease. Bryce even fixed a few pieces of furniture that he noticed needed tightening for me. We used McCarthy's Moving to take us from Marshfield, MA to Wells, ME, and we were beyond pleased with the entire experience. There was not a single negative throughout the entire process. I met with the owner, Rob, a couple of weeks before the planned move. He came to the house for an estimate and was friendly and professional. He answered my questions and left me with a very fair estimate. Over the following weeks he returned every phone call promptly and was always courteous and reassuring which left me feeling confident in my choice. At one point he mentioned that "it's my name on the side of the truck. I want to protect that." I learned later that that wasn't just a sales pitch. He meant it. It can be a little unnerving to put your life's possessions in the hands of strangers, and Bryce and his crew understood this. When they showed up (right on time) they were friendly, professional and respectful not only to my wife and I, but also to our possessions. They worked quickly and as a team to get the truck loaded while asking all the right questions and even offering some additional packing tips which were greatly appreciated. When it came time to unpack at the new house the experience continued. Bryce, Ron, Vance and Enkid reassembled everything and put it exactly where we asked. Never once at either end of the move was there a dinged table leg, a bruised door frame, or even an "oops."  These guys knew what they were doing and knew how to act as a team. They also had great senses of humor. If you get the chance, try stumping Bryce with movie quotes. When it came time for the bill there were no surprises. It was an hourly rate and was exactly what Rob had quoted. No extras, no hidden fees, no surprises. In a world where mediocrity is now the accepted standard of business and where the "sale comes first and the truth comes second", these guys are the real deal. I cannot recommend McCarthy's moving enough. From the owner to the crew to the condition of their truck and equipment, this company provided world class service at a very fair price.

Let's face it, moving is a stressful, backbreaking, pain in the butt. I know this because I have done 4 major moves in the last 5 years. So I think this makes me sort of an expert on moving companies. McCarthy's Moving & Storage wins hands down against the other 3 companies we had used. Started with an email to Rob to which he responded the same day. I sent pictures of the major furniture and an approximate count of boxes and the addresses. Rob quoted me an hourly rate for 5 guys and a truck and we schedule a date. (from past experience I really expected an 8-9 hour day and all kinds of extra charges which they don't tell you about until they have all your stuff in their truck) This was a very different experience. The crew showed up on time and ready to work. They were all very polite, friendly and had neat appearances. They took a quick walk through, made a game plan and got to work. 5.5 hours later we were in our new place! We were presented with the bill with no extra charges and it was a lot less than I anticipated! The guys made sure all of our stuff was where we wanted it and asked multiple times if there was anything more we needed. Seriously great experience all around! Bryce, Thomas, Ryan, and Clayton were a fantastic crew on my moving day. They were professional problem solvers who were enjoyable to be around. In addition to the furniture and various household stuff, I had them move a large (approx 5’ x 7 1/2’) extremely fragile old stained glass window which they crated and secured and gingerly moved successfully without incident. These guys were so helpful and pleasant, they made what could have been a stressful day run very smoothly.

I would highly recommend hiring these guys for your move. Bryce, Clayton and Angel arrived on time, took care with even the smallest items, covered all of the largest items, were friendly, patient and extremely efficient. Bryce, the team leader, is a genius at taking apart and putting items back together without a hitch (no missing nuts or bolts!) Reasonably priced and accommodating. Best around in my opinion. As an added benefit, they also handle long distancing moves. Thank you for a seamless move!

Ryan and Timmy arrived on time and ready to work. They moved the items from my apartment and storage unit  so efficiently I barely had time to sign my lease before they had arrived at my new apartment ready to unload. All my items were moved in quickly, and cautiously. I would recommend McCarthy's to anyone moving.

I changed the date on these movers several times, added heavy items like a piano half way through the process, and asked them to make two pick up stops. They were accommodating and kind throughout — and the quoted price never changed. The day of, the movers took incredible care of my things, were quick and efficient (even though I was paying by the hour), and were meticulous in how they moved things. They wrapped up my television for me, asked for cleaner so that I "wouldn't take old dust to the new place" and wiped down furniture for me. They checked in often as to where I would want things placed in the new house, and were willing to move things around when I changed my mind. They even had my husband run out and buy furniture pads to protect our refinished floors, and put the pads on before placing items. I could not more highly recommend this moving company.

My day with McCarthy Moving Company started properly at 9am. Bryce, Scheron, Vance, Timmy, and Cakes showed up with 2 trucks and never stopped. They had to clear out my home in Quincy and then to empty my storage unit also in Quincy.
Then off to Middleboro to unload. It was a long and exhausting day for all but this team of guys were amazing. They stayed positive and beyond polite the entire day. I would absolutely recommend Rob and his team for what ever your moving needs are.

This is my 2nd post for utilizing McCarthy's Moving Company & I can't say enough about this moving company, 5 stars all the way!  Our 1st move was managed by the owner, Rob and another guy, it was a small move taking my mother from her home into assisted living the next town over.  This time was a much larger move going from Quincy to Hull moving a whole household.  I had met with the Owner Rob McCarthy at our home late Spring to prepare for our August 31st (2021) house move.  Rob was upfront with understanding the cost of the move and what he thought we needed to properly manage our move.  Periodically through our the Summer I would communicate via e-mail and Rob would be extremely responsive answering all of my questions in a timely manner.   Promptly at 9:00 AM August 31st, as scheduled, a crew of six movers and two trucks arrived, made introductions, got a lay of the house and items that were moving.  The six gentlemen movers, Bryce, Thomas, Scheron, Ryan, Timmy & Clayton got to work right away & continued the same work ethic through out the day.  The whole crew clearly had their communication/team work skills down pat along with being very experienced movers.  My husband and I felt comfortable and knew they were working extremely hard to manage our many boxes and furniture items while keeping the house from getting damaged in the move.   Overall we were extremely impressed with McCarthy Moving & Storage for both moves made this year and wouldn't hesitate to utilize them again should we need to move again, which I hope won't be for a long time.  Everything from the communications, pricing, the moving crew, equipment was extremely professional and well done.  Thank you McCarthy Movers for taking a lot of stress out of our recent move!  I highly recommend Rob & his team should you be in the market for movers or storage. Rob McCarthy of McCarthy Moving & Storage ROCKS! Yesterday (4/19/21) we moved our mother into the Allerton House in Weymouth. From my 1st inquiry, setting up the move date to the actual move, couldn't have been any smoother. McCarthy Movers has newer equipment & the guys did an awesome job moving my mother out & into her assisted living home. Not only are they great movers, they were extremely sensitive to our emotional situation regarding my Mom leaving her long time home. I not only strongly recommend but I am planning to utilize them to manage my upcoming move from Quincy to Hull which will require storage, rigging plus moving of a statue & exercise equipment move & a whole household. MaCarthy was able to do an in-home move of a LARGE HEAVY 3-piece entertainment unit for us. Thomas and Clayton arrived on time, were respectful, professional, and very careful of our home and belongings. We highly recommend McCarthy for any size move and would certainly call them again if we need moving services.

I have just recently completed a move from the Boston area to Florida and McCarthy’s Moving and Storage made a stressful situation that much easier. Moving is difficult but the guys at McCarthy’s Moving and Storage handled the transportation of my belongings, including all my furniture, clothing, kitchenware, everything from the Boston area to Florida. I called McCarthy’s on a recommendation from my realtor. Rob’s quote was comparable to the other two I had received, but seeing as how my realtor told me about them and their reviews were good we decided to go with them. I’m extremely glad we did. These guys were absolutely phenomenal! I’ll start off by saying that I previously had a very bad experience with another moving company out of Rockland a few years ago. So my wife and I were a little apprehensive about having to make another big move. Rob the owner was extremely helpful and there were no surprise charges whatsoever. I can't say enough about this moving company. After the move I discovered the hardware to one of the beds went missing. When I contacted Rob, the owner he immediately went out and bought new bolts and came to assembly the bed himself! He even made the bed better than I do after reconstructing the frame. Thanks Rob!!! I called and made an appointment with “McCarthy’s Movers and Storage” to go out to Hudson MA to pick up a bedroom set from a previous owner and to bring back to my Weymouth residence.
I met Bryce and Tommy (the two movers) and handed them a sealed envelope with cash to be handed to the previous owner for the purchase. I was a little reluctant to make a cash deal but the owner didn’t want a check and I didn’t want to drive to Hudson so I went through with the deal.
I called the owner to let him know that the movers were on their way and that they would be handing him an envelope with the cash for the purchase and to let me know when they arrived.
It wouldn’t be long before the owner called me to tell me that the movers had arrived, handed him the cash payment and had begun to move the furniture. Once they were loaded the owner called me to tell me that the movers had left and were headed my way. He also mention how professional they were and how careful they were with the furniture as well as the indoors of his house.
When the movers arrived they came in my house to scope out what would be the best way to bring in the bedroom set. The smaller furniture would be able to come through the door but the larger furniture would have to go around back and enter through my sliding doors off the deck.
My wife picked this furniture so I had yet to see it and when I did I couldn’t believe the size of this stuff not to mention that these two guys were going to lift it up my front lawn and maneuver it through my house but they did and a timely manner as well. Both Bryce and Tommy did an outstanding job and I will definably use McCarthy’s again. Great job guys!

I waited until the second part of our current move before raving about the service and care McCarthys took...just to be sure the first part wasn’t a fluke. On our initial move the team showed up and basically catered to our every need. They moved some really heavy old antique furniture carefully but also quickly and efficiently. We had a strange situation because we weren’t moving from point A to point B. Most of our stuff was going to storage temporarily and the rest to where we were staying in the interim. They didn’t bat an eye and loaded the truck accordingly. Also when we arrived to check out the storage facility our unit was stacked neatly and so that we could access anything we needed to!
Our second and most recent move was into our new home. Everything is freshly painted and the team this time (3 different guys) were especially careful. Everybody we have dealt with at McCarthys has been super helpful. From scheduling to delivery and everywhere in between. I would highly recommend this company. They are a pleasure to work with!

McCarthy Movers are excellent movers. This is the 8th time our family has hired them, and as always they were professional, patient, prompt and caring with our move. This time, Rob arranged for Bryce and Joe to move my elderly father over Labor Day weekend with us giving them very short notice. Five star service! If you want top of the line service (and reasonable rates) McCarthy Movers is the company for you! What an incredibly hardworking group of guys! We couldn’t have been more pleased with their professionalism and care in handling, packing, moving the entire contents of my sister’s condo. Then it was off to her new home - where they were just as careful and precise in unloading everything and moving all furniture, boxes, bags, and more to the appropriate rooms and places. McCarthy's Moving and Storage assisted us with our recent move. We were initially impressed when they were the only company that asked to come to give us an estimate instead of giving an estimate online based solely on inventory. They also ended up being the cheapest so choosing them seemed like a no-brainer. The day of our move they called ahead, showed up promptly and were extremely professional and thorough. They asked great questions and made sure our move went as smoothly as possible. They communicated well with each other which helped us to trust that they were treating our belongings respectfully. After they finished packing our house they stayed to help us throw away garbage despite being tired and hungry. They reached our new house first. As soon as we got there. They immediately got to work unpacking. They were creative in finding solutions to get our furniture in carefully and made sure thing made their way to the right rooms. Would recommend these guys to anyone and will definitely use again for our next move!

Rob McCarthy is professional, empathetic and knows the business well. He came to the house to see what I had to move. Gave me a quote, and a few weeks later, I had to change my moving date. He worked with me but it turned out to be an overnight hold using 2 days to move. I was a neurotic mess. He kept saying "no worries." It was so comforting to know that he had this taken care of and all I had to worry about was the other things related to a move. Rob's crew moved my furniture out within a 4 hour time frame (while I was at work) and the next time I saw them, I had arrived at my new home. They showed up 20 minutes later with the same crew who had moved my stuff out. The guys were friendly, kind, careful, humorous, and very efficient. I was very happy with the price.

Rob came out and quoted us a fair price compared to other companies. The day of the move Bryce and Jeff showed up on time and got right to work. The took care with all of our stuff. McCarthys Moving recently did a local move for me and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is moving.  Our move consisted of moving out one day and then moving in the next day. They did a great job of giving me an accurate estimate in advance of the job, they showed up early for the day we moved out, they were careful with all of our belongings but were always efficient and wasted no time in getting us moved out. I highly recommend Rob McCarthy and McCarthy moving. They were the lowest estimate, and the final bill was exactly as estimated. These guys are fast, literally running up the stairs for each load, but they were very careful as well. They were so helpful (and patient) in placing items once we got to our destination, moving things an inch or so back and forth until they were just right.  Rob and Jeff even made a couple of placement suggestions that were better than my original plans. Their experience shows, and we will use them again.

Rob and his team at McCarthy Moving make moving look so easy!  Rob was very responsive and accommodating to our schedule and his team of movers was outstanding.  Bryce and Joe moved us from a two bedroom townhouse to a three bedroom Colonial in just four hours!  We were a little stressed as we had been in our last house for 30 years.  Bryce immediately put us at ease.  He and Joe were extremely friendly, professional and hardworking.  They communicated with us and with each other every step of the move.  They moved all of our furniture and belongings with choreographed precision.  After one attempt of trying to get our queen-size box spring with storage up the staircase to the second floor, it clear it was not going to make it up there.  Bryce went the extra mile by taking the piece apart to see if he and Joe could get it upstairs in pieces.  Unfortunately, it did not work, but we were extremely appreciative of their efforts.  All of our belongings arrived at our new home in the same condition as when they left our former home.  Our move could not have gone any better!  McCarthy Moving is very affordable and the company to go with for all your moving needs!!

Quick & efficient but careful.with belongings too. Wrapped many items & protected floor. Terrible weather!! Seemed like a waterfall! They were not phased! Excellent job! Definitely recommend !!

McCarthys moving was the best decision we made with our move! (Besides our new home!) rob and his crew were professional, responsive (and responsible) throughout every step of the stressful process that is moving.  I can't say how much it meant to have that HUGE stress of packing and transport taken care of for us. My friend hired movers the month before us and had an AWFUL experience with movers who didn't show up on time, and then went to the wrong new address, and she even had a chair broken in the move. McCarthy's gave us an entirely different experience!! Rob was easy and communicable, proving extremely trustworthy from start to finish- and his movers were polite and careful with all of our valuables. They were affordable and worth every penny of what we spent to have this peace of mind. Never ever will we move again without McCarthy's Moving and Storage

On Aug. 28th we moved my mom from Marshfield to Weymouth and it was a great experience with McCarthy's Moving Co.  Rob was always professional and very timely answering my emails or with my multiple phone calls.  Both movers, Jeff and Bryce were extremely professional, courteous and cautious with all of our items, many of them antiques.  It was the hottest day of the summer and they never complained.  Moving can be a stressful situation and both men made it look easy and they reduced my stress level the moment we shook hands. I would highly recommend McCarthy's Movers to friends and will certainly use them in the future.

Best movers I've ever had, and I've moved A LOT ! These guys were true professionals. They arrive in their moving van with matching work shirts and are obviously physically fit and capable. I had to have them wait an hour before we could start and they didn't have any attitude or issue with it. Then they carried everything my POD up three flights of stairs with no problem. Adam was even kind enough to collect misc puzzle pieces from the POD floor and put them back in my puzzle box!! They were super considerate and efficient and at the end made sure everything is exactly where I wanted it to be placed. Totally top notch professionals.

Rob and his crew consisting of Bryce, Michael & Jeff were professional, helpful, and friendly moving my daughter and son-in-law from their first home in Weymouth to their new home in Weymouth.  The move day was a rainy one and the guys took every possible precaution to safeguard the belongings and keep the floors as clean as possible given the mess outside. Rob was extremely flexible with scheduling especially since the moving date was not confirmed until 2 days in advance. Don't hesitate to call McCarthy's Moving & Storage!

I highly recommend McCarthy's Moving! Rob and his crew were absolute professionals - easy to schedule, on time, and they used the utmost care in handling our furniture.  They were very hardworking and stuck to the 4 hour window, and they were also fun.  Having them around joking with us and each other and having a good time, while they were hauling huge items up the stairs, made the whole day much more relaxed.  We sincerely appreciated their work and also their presence.  For any future moves, I'll call Rob every time.

McCarthy's Moving & Storage ROCKS!! Rob and his team (Jeff and John) were fantastic. They got the job done efficiently and professionally. Totally went above and beyond and took all the stress out of the move. Price was very competitive and no hidden fees or unpleasant surprises. McCarthy's moving and storage goes above and beyond!

They don't just help move your furniture from one place to another, but they take it to the next level and help set everything up. They made sure I was happy with where everything was before they left. They did all of this with smiles on their faces and even a few jokes to lighten the mood of what could have been a very stressful day.

With all of the large furniture and small fragile items that were moved, not one thing got damaged and I could not be more pleased with the service. I would recommend them to anyone and have been doing so since I used them!

My experience with McCarthy's was fantastic! From the first initial meeting with Rob on planning my move, to the moment the truck rolled away after all my possessions were moved in was just smooth sailing. Such personable and professional employees, they worked so efficiently and never took a break. They took great care of my personal belongings, paid great attention to detail, and made me laugh which was a refreshing stress reliever. I would absolutely use them again (although I hope the next move is a long way off!) and would most definitely recommend them highly to friends and family.

We have used McCarthy Moving and Storage twice now and on both occasions, the crew has gone above and beyond to ensure that our family's move was as seamless as possible.  Moving is stressful enough, but to have a company as reliable as these guys sure takes a lot of pressure off!  Everyone has been polite and professional each time, taking excellent care of our belongings.  Prompt arrival, efficient service, and excellent attention to detail.  Too bad we can't give more than 5 stars! If I could give 6+ stars, I would. Working with Rob via email was wonderful, very easy and efficient to schedule. I chose them specifically because they were a local business but also didn't start the clock until they arrived at the home. Mike and Bryce were our movers. We moved from Medford and Charlestown to Duxbury and they were able to do 2 stops for us before heading to the South Shore. They moved everything out with choreographed precision and even broke down my extremely complicated bed with 6 drawers on a track that don't come out. Bryce unscrewed the entire thing and rebuilt it on site in Duxbury. Above and beyond! No damage, were extremely helpful, listened, asked questions, etc. I couldn't have moved with out them!

Rob provided an exceptional moving experience.  He moved my elderly mother into my home where we had built a in-law for her.  She first called him and he went to her condo for an estimate.  He was $500 dollars less than another very reputable company. He was so kind to my mother during the initial consult.  On moving day 3 men came and moved my mother out of her condo.  I'll never forget one of the men saying to my my mother "you don't have to touch another thing...we are here now". They were so polite, kind, and I've rthe top helpful.  They wrapped everything with extreme care (grandfather clock, large glass cabinet) and even fixed her dining room table which she bought from Jordan last year. When they got to the new addition they again treated it with white gloves ensuring  everything was handled with care and nothing touched a wall or dragged on the floor, they even put felt pads on the couch and dining room as it was brand new floor!.  I can't say enough about the strong customer service and quality moving service (everything was wrapped individually btw, chairs, tables etc).  Thank you again !!

I would like to personally/publicly thank McCarthy Movers (Jeff and Mike especially). My grandmother's 120yr old curio cabinet was handled with so much care. Hardworking guys who didn't take breaks, they just got the job done! From Southie to Weymoth with ease. But these two went above and beyond. I had a large sleep sofa/couch delivered to the new place that took up the space for all my 'stuff' to go. They not only moved it to make room, they put it together for me and put it right where I wanted. True gentlemen! If you have an upcoming move I recommend McCarthy Moving & Storage. 5*+Rob Mccarthy and his team are phenomenal! They are hard working and professional and affordable. I️ moved from a 3rd story condo on a Main Street to a house. Rob came over in person to do the estimate. He explained the whole process and how they would pack my belongings. I️ was beyond thrilled to hear that I️ could keep all my clothes in my bureau and they would transport it that way as well as leaving all my clothes hanging up in the closet and they also transported them on the hangers and hung them back up in my new house the SAME way with all the shirts and pants etc.. together. They held my stuff overnight on their their truck because I️ could not move into my new place until the next day. The overnight fee was very affordable and they took excellent care of my belongings. Moving all my furniture from the top story condo down 3 flights of stairs was a workout for them but no one ever complained. They were professional and friendly and took the time to do whatever they could to make a stressful time on ones life much easier. I️ highly recommend Rob McCarthy and his team!! They are phenomenal!!!!

McCarthy's has completed two moves for me- one local with packing and one out of state from Boston to Texas.
I've watched this company grow over the past 5 years and recently during my out of state move I was really impressed with 1) how everything was done in the time promised, 2) boxes placed in the corresponding rooms so I could easily find everything, and 3) the utmost professionalism.

Without a doubt best moving company we have had the pleasure of working with. From personal touches by the owner Rob, to the efficient and friendly 3 man crew (that worked more like a 10 man crew) no attention to detail was sparred. We moved during torrential down pours and not a peep was heard from these movers, as they worked diligently and ensured all our belongings were well taken care of. The true test was taking apart and putting back together our daughters Ikea beds, which was done perfectly and worth its weight in gold. Huge thank you's once again to Rob and his crew as they are truly the rock stars of moving!!

These guys were amazing. Friendly, fast, efficient, and they actually took care not to damage anything. I cannot say enough accolades about McCarthy Moving & Storage Company beginning with the owner Rob and his employees. They were total professionals beginning at time when they arrived at my house. The job was a big one with many rooms of heavy furniture and boxes and they moved everything with utmost care. I never for one moment was concerned about the safety of my belongings. I needed to have furniture moved to another town and swapped out and the owner Rob, and one of his associates took care of the transfer and set it up personally. I respect an owner who works as hard as their employees to keep their clients needs met while working in an acceptable and relatively quick time frame. They shrunk wrap and whenever necessary used wrapping blankets to protect items. I would advise anyone to contact this stand up moving company to utilize for their moving needs. Kiddos job well done!

McCarthys movers are amazing! Rob came to my house the day after I called him, looked at all my belongings and went over exactly what would be moved. Other companies I contacted emailed me quotes without even seeing what I had. Robs quote came in well below any other company. On the day of the move 3 movers showed up on time and were incredibly polite, efficient, and did not stop until everything was in its place. They treated our belongings like they were their own ( even fishing a Ariel dress up shoe out of the couch to meet its missing match) Moving is a stressful time and MCarthy Movers eased that stress. ���

We called McCarthy Movers after getting a couple of outrageously expensive quotes for a move. McCarthy movers were 1/2 the price and twice as fast. When we called other moving companies we got estimates over the phone or through email, but when we called McCarthy Movers Rob was at our house the next day looking at our belongings and he didn't leave until he had given us an estimate. When the guys showed up they went right to work and couldn't be more accommodating or helpful. We can not say enough good things about this company, they were fast, efficient, polite, and honest. I would strongly recommend McCarthy Movers over anyone else on the South shore.

We called McCarthy Movers after getting a couple of outrageously expensive quotes for a move. McCarthy movers were 1/2 the price and twice as fast. When we called other moving companies we got estimates over the phone or through email, but when we called McCarthy Movers Rob was at our house the next day looking at our belongings and he didn't leave until he had given us an estimate. When the guys showed up they went right to work and couldn't be more accommodating or helpful. We can not say enough good things about this company, they were fast, efficient, polite, and honest. I would strongly recommend McCarthy Movers over anyone else on the South shore.

Rob and his team were organized, friendly, and most importantly flexible. My wife and I moved from Weymouth to Marshfield this past weekend and McCarthy's made it easy. We closed two properties in one day (wouldn't recommend doing that, for what it's worth) and the first was slightly delayed and that changed our entire move schedule. Rob was quick on responding to my last minute changes and never said a word about it being an issue - he just made it happen. I also want to give a shout out to the move foreman Jeff for the protips on ripping up carpet (which we were doing as they were moving us in). We are in the new house and very happy to be there. I've used McCarthy's movers on three occasions in the past 5 years. There is a reason for my choice. They are professional, dependable and dedicated to the job. Each member of the crew is considerate and friendly. I was lucky to have the same crew each time. I never knew if it was by design or just a lucky draw.  Rob McCarthy spreads himself thin by making an appearance supervising each of his work sites. However, he leaves each site in good hands with competent Crew Chiefs. Jobs were always completed in a timely manner. This is my first review of any company. I really don't intend to do it again. I just felt a need to recognize McCarthy's Movers because I was able to compare from past experience. A Satisfied Customer!

I highly highly highly recommend McCarthy's Moving! They moved us over two days - July 6/7 and the crew was fantastic! So helpful and friendly as well as fast and efficient. Rob, the owner, came out to due an estimate and he was right on target - it was affordable!! I can't say enough great things about this local company as they know what they are doing, are able to take apart and put together furniture items and even help with where to place things. We were extremely pleased with the level of service we received from Rob and his team.  They unloaded our furniture from a Pod, and were very flexible about setting up the unloading date.  They moved some extremely large, heavy pieces up stairs, and around corners with great skill. My husband and I have nothing but great things to say about Rob and his team at McCarthy's Moving! Rob came to our apartment and gave us a very fair estimate. We ultimately chose him and his team because we trusted him from the get go. We had a fairly full 1-bedroom apartment with an antique grand piano. I was a bit nervous about how these guys would move the piano - and it went smoother than I could have imagined! Everything made it to our new home in one piece and was perfectly setup (with furniture pads to protect our new floors)! The guys were very professional and were very careful of the walls when moving furniture in and out. We had a minor issue with our wine fridge, and before I could even blink, Rob showed up with a brand new one to replace it! Talk about customer service! I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys again in a heartbeat. Best moving service I have ever encountered! Thanks Rob and team!

We were fortunate enough to have been referred to McCarthy's by a neighbor of ours that recently relocated.  The team is professional, friendly, courteous and went the extra mile in all tasks they performed for us. They disassembled our beds and crib, reassembled at our new location. They offered recommendations on where to put items and all the while had such a great attitude. These guys were spectacular! I could not have been happier and will be recommending them to anyone I know who's moving. I have to say the whole expierience with McCarthy's was stress free, which anyone who's had to go through a big move knows stress comes with the territory. I've moved a few times and this was the best company I've had... bar none! Their rates were very reasonable compared to other moving companies in the area, and from start to finish I felt their attentiveness to my questions and care for my belongings really made me feel at ease. The crew was very professional and you could tell they knew what they were doing taking great care in wrapping my furniture, tv's, and art work. It was 95 degrees out yesterday and these guys were worked their butts off maintaining an upbeat attitude every step of the way! I plan on moving to Florida in two years, I'll definitely be calling Rob and the guys!

Highly recommend!! Had two different crews for two days to move out of storage and into two homes. All of them were great! But, hats off to Rob McCarthy and Curtis they were super helpful and professional. They organized the storage units and then moved quite a bit of furniture into an attic on a 90 degree day staying positive and energetic the whole time. I really appreciated the straight forward approach to costs. They didn't charge from the warehouse back to the warehouse but from storage unit until done at my house. Another mover wanted to charge from the warehouse??

These guys are awesome! I've used them twice - once to move some of our stuff from storage to our two bedroom apartment (back in 2014), and just recently to move our stuff from our apartment (which had doubled in the last couple years), into our house. Packed up and moved our 2-bedroom apartment in no-time flat, and everything delivered was put in place in perfect condition, with the exception of one picture frame (glass cracked but they replaced free of charge).  Super easy to set up / schedule, fair rate and the team was super nice.  Highly recommend the team at McCarthy!

Pat and his crew helped me with a fairly complicated move, and did so without any confusion,hiccups or other issues.  I had to move items between FOUR locations!  They also helped me pack for an entire day, excellent job.  The crew is cheery, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable, and care for your items as if they were your own.  their rates are incredibly reasonable as well.  I've moved several times in the past, using some of the bigger name companies in the area, and they can't compare to McCarthy's.

A pipe burst in my apartment and was deemed uninhabitable and I had to move quickly so the landlord could get in and gut the place. McCarthy's made an already stressful situation so much easier by being super flexible when my move in dates and times to the new place kept changing last minute. The guys were all super nice and considerate of my belongings- there wasn't a scratch on anything. I would absolutely recommend McCarthy's!

I've dealt with moving companies a few times and this is definitely the best experience I had. The move was very last minute and I spoke with the owner, who was very accommodating, answering all my questions very promptly. (Meanwhile I was still waiting for other companies to get back to me that I called the day before) he was able to fit my move in with just a few days notice, and he gave me a quote right away. Once moving day came I realized there was a lot more I'd need them to move than I originally thought. They arrived and they were very friendly and sociable but still in business mode. They got all of our stuff out of the house very quickly. They had to disassemble some things and reassemble at the new place. They put everything where we wanted it and were helpful with helping us figure out where the best placement for certain items would be. At the end of the move I was prepared for the quoted price to go up a bit since they had to move more than I'd originally said, but it was exactly the same. Overall I was extremely pleased. They definitely met and at times exceeded my expectations, which you can't always expect from the lowest price. They were great and would use them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend them.

Absolutely the best! Honest, dependable and skilled. Made what could have been a very stressful day go with ease. It was freezing and windy and these guys handled my furniture and belongings with tremendous care and tenacity. Some of my furniture was incredibly heavy and they were so skillful. I got multiple bids and theirs was on the mark and honest. As a single Mom I've been taken advantage of, and got some outrageous bids by others but NOT by McCarthy's. This is a top shelf company! I can't stress enough how stress free these good men made our move yesterday. We moved into a third floor walk up, and the move was completed by early afternoon. Not only did they place everything in our new home with the utmost care, they even reassembled our furniture before they left.  I have moved many times in my life, but it has never been so smooth and easy. They showed up promptly when they said they would, and worked hard until the move was complete. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with them. These guys rock! They had torrential rain loading my house out in Mass then 8 inches of ice to load in my new house in New Hampshire and they didn't complain a bit. They kept everything safe, on time, and most of all on budget. They wouldn't let me carry a thing. Every time I tried, they took it out of my hands and ran it into the house where it belonged.
