Our family has been working with Barbara for several months. Getting her help was the best decision we could have made. With her expertise, as well as her supportive and kind nature, we have been able to navigate my mom’s complex health issues and get her the care she needs without trying to figure it all out on our own. Barbara’s advocacy got my mom more time in rehab, which she really needed. Barbara also helped us figure out what to do when my mom could no longer live at home. It was comforting to know all our options and so nice to have help doing all the logistical work. If you need help navigating complex or elder care issues, Barbara is exactly who you want in your corner. I’d give her 10 stars if I could.

Barbara served as both a Patient Advocate and Care Manager for the 4 1/2 years my husband who had dementia lived in Assisted Living. Because I live out of the country much of the year, Barbara was my eyes, ears,hands, and feet on the ground. She visited my husband weekly, and developed a trusting caring relationship with him, as well staying in contact with staff as to his and my needs and occasionally taking my husband for necessary medical tests. She would send me a report and photos after every visit. She was truly my partner in his care, not only competent and knowledgeable in dealing with the medical establishment but always willing to go the extra mile, whether for me or for my husband. She is a generous and compassionate person, incredibly easy to work with and her competent caring support was truly a godsend during a very difficult period. I can not recommend her highly enough for whatever advocacy, care management, or other support needs you may have.

Barbara was instrumental in helping my mom with any healthcare needs that she had from finding the right doctors to find a safe and well run assisted living home for my mom after she had recovered from Covid and needed a place wear they provided suitable coverage for her. She was there helping every step of the way and I coouldn't have done it without her!

I was in desperate need of a Patient Advocate. My sister had been in the hospital over a year at that point and it became increasingly stressful and overwhelming for me to handle all of the responsibilities on my own. I feel blessed to have found Barbara through a doctor who had recommended her. There were many situations that arose where I needed her support, guidance and expertise. Barbara was always on top of things going straight to the source… be it communicating with hospital personnel, attending meetings and the ability to resolve issues always in a calm, yet effective manner. My sister had multiple doctors appointments and needed transportation set up. I felt confident and at ease knowing that Barbara would always follow through in getting her there. I was very impressed with the notes Barbara would keep, detailed and accurate, she would email them to me promptly after gathering information and also when tasks were completed, keeping me abreast on developments. Barbara also assisted me in finding my sister a wonderful Skilled Nursing Facility after my sister left the hospital. Barbara is a very compassionate person and she truly cares about her clients and their needs. I’m so grateful for all she has done for our family… I highly recommend her.

I travel quite extensively with my job and it has become much more difficult finding the time to take care of the increasing health needs and concerns for my aging parents; mom in her early 80’s and dad in his mid 80’s. I hired Barbara, Patient Advocate and Healthcare Liaison from ABC FOR YOUR HEALTH to step in and help take care of my parent’s healthcare needs when I travel out of town. The first time I met Barbara, I was intrigued with her professionalism and the knowledge she has about the ins and outs of healthcare, but what completely sold me was her genuine compassion she has toward my folks. Barbara treats my folks as if they were her own! When I am traveling for work or away from home, Barbara keeps me updated with any new developments or urgent health issues that arise. I completely trust Barbara’s insight in managing my parent’s care and know they are both in good hands. The sense of relief I have knowing that Barbara is there taking care of my parents when I am out of town goes far beyond words.

During a recent hospitalization I was feeling overwhelmed and terrified with the diagnoses I received and the treatment my doctors were recommending. Thankfully, one of my nurses gave me the contact information for ABC FOR YOUR HEALTH. I connected with Barbara, Patient Advocate and Healthcare Liaison for ABC FOR YOUR HEALTH who was instrumental in getting me back on my feet and feeling like myself again. Barbara came to the hospital prior to me being discharged, met with myself, my doctors and my nurses, and together we came up with a care plan that put me on the track to full recovery. Barbara coordinated all my doctor appointments that I needed to schedule following discharge and accompanied me to those appointments, so my primary care doctor and specialists were on the same page. She made certain the new medications prescribed when I was in the hospital were picked up at the pharmacy and she notified all my other doctors of the new medications I had been started on. She also arranged for the various tests and scans I needed to have as an outpatient.

I can honestly say I don’t think I would have made the strides for such a speedy recovery if it wasn’t for Barbara’s knowledge on how to work through the healthcare system and the compassion and care she gave to me during what I consider to be one of my darkest hours. I am so grateful I was introduced to Barbara when I was. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
