I was able to call in for an estimate that was the cheapest around St. Louis, and not only that, I was able to get it done in the same week. The insulation job was professionally done, looking fantastic with pictures taken afterward, and Ed was also able to install some static vents to improve our attic ventilation. Everything was done professionally and efficiently in a few hours. I highly recommend AddictInsulation and I will be looking forward to a reduced electric and gas bill in the future.

After 26 years our attic insulation had settled considerably. We had an additional 9 inches of insulation blown in our attic and feel the difference already. Addict Insulation did an excellent job and cleaned up after the work was completed. We also had them blow insulation over our garage ceiling.. The required insulation in our area has increased over 26 years in our case basically doubled.. if you have an older home this is something you should also consider.

I would strongly recommend Ed. We had our house insulated in September 2021. I would recommend additional insulation into any home. We have had additional insulation into all three of our homes over the past 10 years. As soon as the insulation went in we notice a huge difference and still make comments on how well the insulation is working three months later. Ed was a one man team and completed the job in about four hours. He is a proud businessman and takes pride in his work. He explained the process and answered all my questions even while he was working. I felt he gave me a fair price and when I asked about a military discount we agreed on one.

We used them to bring our attic up to R-49. Very professional and courteous. I had forgot to cover our clothes in our closet and during the insulation installation our clothes got covered in insulation debris. They took the time to clean off our clothes after completion. I really appreciated that attention to detail.

The cost seemed reasonable as well, not overpriced, but not bottom of the barrel either. I’m always happy to pay a little more for a much better experience.

I am very impressed with the service from Addict Insulation. I worked with Ed from the first call to the end of the installation of my insulation. I had bout a recently remodeled home that had left several portions of my attic uninsulated. It was noticeable during the first heat wave this year. I had called Addict Insulation on a Saturday and Ed came out Monday to look at it and give me an estimate. I requested that they put all new insulation in and he was able to do it within the week. We added 12 inches of cellulose to our existing (limited) fiberglass in our 900 square foot attic. Ed gave a quote over the phone, (the absolute best price from the firms I requested quotes) offered us a booking within a week due to a cancellation and did the work in about 2 hours on budget. He even called in advance to apologize that he would be a bit late due to a previous job running long. Most companies don't offer that kind of customer care and we are very grateful. Highly recommend.

Needed new insulation in a 35 year old house which was pretty straightforward. But, wanted to replace the flexible ductwork as well while we were doing the insulation. Ed was one of the only contractors willing to do both at the same time. Saved us from having 2 contractors in the house at different times. The insulation was perfect and the ductwork worked great! Had to come back to tighten a few fittings on the ductwork and his associate did a great job in short order. Would definitely recommend this contractor to friends and associates!

Two months after buying my “fixer upper,” I realized that the bad smell in the house just wasn’t going away. Further inspection revealed that the 60-year-old attic insulation (fiberglass and cellulose) had been fouled up by critters, and needed to go.

I called Ed with Addict Insulation on a Saturday morning about 8:30, expecting to leave a message. I was shocked when Ed (the owner) answered the phone, and even more shocked when he said he gave me an estimate (based on square footage) over the phone! His price was less than half of what I’d expected. What a relief! He said that he could be there the following Saturday to do the work!

The next Saturday, he showed up as promised and worked like a dog for more than eight hours. When he emerged from the attic of my brick ranch he said, “This turned out to be a bigger project than I anticipated!” In that attic, he found two layers of fiberglass batt insulation and another layer of old cellulose on top. It was a mess.

Ed returned on Sunday, for another eight hours of work, and finished up Sunday night, well past sunset. He literally vacuumed the tops of those sheetrock ceilings clean. It looked great, and I was tickled pink.

He stuck with his quoted price, despite the fact that this took him so many hours to finish.

Ed returned about 10 days later (per my request) to put in fresh insulation and he did a masterful job. He stayed away from the soffit vents, installed baffles in the right places, and built a box around my air handler. He spent four hours making it all “just so.”

It looks perfect, and that lingering funky odor is gone - hallelujah! When Ed came in the house to give me the bill, we chatted a bit. He’s a very impressive fellow and obviously knows his business inside and out. In the end, I paid him a little extra as a thank you for being so conscientious and thorough.

It’s nerve-wracking to find a contractor through the internet, but I can tell you, this guy won’t disappoint. I am an architectural historian, and I am extremely persnickety, and if you google my name, you’ll find that I write books on old houses. I literally picked Ed out of the blue, and I am so pleased with his work. Highly recommend him!

Our house had very bad insulation, our heating and cooling bills were outrageous. Our AC was always running! Someone mentioned I should check my insulation up in our attic and see if it more needs to be added. Well come to find out our insulation was barley over the boards (4"). We needed to add alot more insulation.

After searching many companies around the area I found this one. Has the best reviews, good pictures and after calling them had very very good prices. So we scheduled an appointment to have them add 15" of insulation in our home.

He came out, performed a great job, explained everything and even added a little more than we asked! Very professional and hardworking. He was here for approx 3hrs. He even took pictures to show us all the work he did!

After all said and done I was very happy and very relieved we got this done. We've had the insulation added for 2 weeks now and our AC has not been running very much at all! It feels quieter in the house! Best thing we've added to home! Call these guys they know what they are doing!

The whole experience with this company has been great. I received a couple bids from local insulation companies and this was the only company that told me I didn't need to reinsulate my entire attic but just a couple different spots where the insulation had worked its way to the middle of the attic, and mentioned the install of baffles to help with the problem areas, and ventilation. I only had a problem cooling two rooms in my home, the rest of the house was fine. Not having to reinsulated my entire home saved me over $600. They took before and after pictures for me and both rooms are just as comfortable as the rest of my house. I would definitely recommend this company for insulation work.

Over the past year and half during humid summer months, I experienced condensation on my living room ceiling - the only vaulted ceiling in my home. Once the humidity lightened up, the ceiling would dry up. Initially, the first time I experienced it, I contacted my homeowners insurance company and they sent out an adjuster. He inspected the roof and assured me that I had no roof damage. The next time it happened, I contacted a roofer. He thought my ridge vent in the center of the roof was possibly installed incorrectly. After inspection, he approved the ridge vent and told me the attic was not venting properly. He instructed me to contact a handy man and have him shift the insulation away from the vault, because according to him the insulation in the vault was packed too tight and wasn’t allowing the air to escape. The following summer, the condensation came back. Thoroughly annoyed I started placing a fan in the room and pointed it toward the ceiling whenever it was humid. It finally dawned on me to call an insulation expert. A quick google search, the third number that I dialed and first live person that answered was Ed at Addict Insulation. I explained the problem and he immediately relayed the cause. He was knowledgeable, polite and was able to fit me into the schedule timely. He sent pictures once the work was complete. Third times a charm, right!?! I am praying that I can say good bye to ceiling condensation, paint and live happily ever after. Thank you Addict Insulation, I really appreciate you!!!

Ed with Addict Insulation was very professional, detailed and thoughtful. For instance, when Ed came to my house to fix my attic insulation he threw all the old insulation out my attic window and down off my roof onto grass instead of carrying all that insulation out throughout my entire home. I didn’t even have to ask him first, he thought of my house and family first! He worked consistently from early morning to late evening to get job completed and fast too! He was the only insulation guy that listened to my concerns, addressed all options, quickly responded to every question I asked and actually looked around at all problem areas before giving me my bid. Ed showed up promptly on time, and agreed to inspect my attic for proper insulation,, and evaluate the condition of the plywood on my roof. It was a good thing I called “addictinsulation.com.” Ed was able to see that when a previous company did me the service of blown-in insulation, they neglected to rake the insulation back, off of the eves. For years now, I have been getting inadequate ventilation from my vented soffits. When I am through with my soffit/fascia replacement, I plan to hire this company to square away my insulation in the attic. Top notch evaluation from Ed!

We had another company out before Ed arrived. They mentioned out isulation had just been rolled back for some reason. When Ed showed up, he explained we needed baffles and that our batting insulation was not the best for the space. Ed added the baffles and brought the space up to code. He is responsive, on time and well priced.

Shout out to Addict Insulation and Ed. I got three quotes he was in line with them all. Initially I wasnt going to go with them and I told them thanks but no thanks but Ed wasnt taking no for an answer. He wasn't pushy as car salesman either he he listen to me and accepted my offer. The price was very reasonable not too much more than doing it myself, no brainer. If you want quailty service, value and reasonable pricing go with Ed.

I made one call to Ed and felt like an insulation expert after that call. He made sure I understood all my options, and answered all my questions (I ask a lot of questions). Very happy! We have an old house built in the 1920s. Our home was drafty and cold in winter and hot and humid in summer. Very expensive to try to cool and heat our house. They have a tool that insulates our outside walls stabilizing our interior temperature. It's like living in a new quite home!
